WiN 2006 Meeting Location

The eyes of the world are on Canada's Technology Triangle. It sounds like an exaggeration, we know but it is, in fact, true. Waterloo, home of high tech giants, important academic centres and innovative institutions attracts wide-spread international attention on a regular basis: whether it is because of groundbreaking revelations from the Perimeter Institute (a hotbed for Quantum physics), or the influx of international decision-makers for the latest meeting at the Centre for International Governance Innovation.

Fine, but what do cyber-giants and think tanks have to do with other visitors to this state-of-the-art city? Actually, everything. It's largely because of the presence of many dot.com businesses, as well as two universities and other important institutions, that Waterloo has developed the personality it has: bright, creative, hospitable, culturally-aware, and entertaining.
