Visitors must be 18 years of age or older.
Women who know or suspect they are pregnant or nursing mothers, are not permitted to visit this industrial environment as a precautionary measure.
Visitors who have had medical procedures using radioactive substances ( radiopharmaceuticals) within eight weeks prior to their visit date, cannot enter the plant as they may cause station monitor systems to alarm. (This excludes standard x-rays.)
The tour involves many stairs and a lot of walking (inside and outside) including extensive use of open grate stairways. Casual dress is recommended but no bare legs or sleeveless tops. Please note that during the summer months there can be wide fluctuations of temperature throughout various areas of the plant
Handbags, briefcases, camera cases, knapsacks are not permitted on the in-plant visit.
All in-plant visitors must have government issued personal photo identification, such as a driver's license, passport or birth certificate and carry it at all times. All in-plant visitors will also encounter security measures similar to those at an airport, including mandatory searches involving x-ray machines and metal detectors. A metal-free clearance is required to enter the station.
Visitors will be required to wear hard hats and safety glasses, which will be provided.
The following items are NOT allowed in the operations side of the plant: cellular phones, beverages, foodstuffs, lipstick/chapstick, cigarettes, cigars or lighters.
Names and addresses of participants are required by May 15, 2006
Advise the Tour Organizer if you have any need to carry medication for health reasons (ie. puffers, epi-pens, glycerin tablets).
Still cameras, video taping and/or audio recording is not permitted, during the presentation and in plant visit.
For the Bruce Power Tour, participants will be required to provide shoe sizes (North American) for safety footwear before May 15, 2006.
For the Pickering and Darlington Nuclear In-Plant Visits, a flat enclosed shoe (no platforms or sandals) is mandatory footwear.
